A form of martial arts called jiu-Jitsu is the art of ground fighting. Is tiring if you are a beginner, yet it is a ton of fun when you finally begin the training. In the first few Jiu Jitsu Classes Melbourne, you will learn the following:
- The basic positions
- Ground fighting sequences
- Submission attacks
The main purpose of jiu-jitsu
Jiu-jitsu’s core objective is survival. It is more about beating the opponent or learning the proper technique. Jiu-jitsu is a technique of self-defense, which teaches practitioners to survive in a fight, whether during a street fight or an MMA match.
Four elements
There are four elements of jiu-jitsu, namely:
- Defend. It minimizes the damage that the attacker can inflict. It has three tiers of defense positions, such as:
- The big position is taking your back.
- If the back gets taken, prevent the opponents from getting their arms around the neck.
- It is when you lose the small position, then you are in deep trouble. It means you must fight the opponent to keep from losing. When you lose position, you lose!
- Escape. It is where you find a way to break free. Escape has three combinations of active techniques and recognizes the mistakes of others. Escaping has three types of components:
- Accept the mistake when you see it. If the opponent focuses too much on the specific attack and left you an opening, take it!
- Create an opportunity for escape, which means driving the opponent to make mistakes so that you can manipulate them.
- You can finally force an escape. You are using brute force to overcome the opponent. You can use an explosive move and expand energy to disorient the opponent. Thereby, it gives you the chance to escape.
- Control. When you are finally free, establish, and maintain control. Once you have escaped and moved to the top position, control the fight in 3 different styles:
- Closed
- Open
- Dynamic
- Submit. When you are in control, make the opponent submit. Forcing a submission is the same as escaping. The same as escaping, there are three components of submission, such as:
- Accept
- Create
- Force
The most essential thing to keep in mind is defense, it is better to defend early than defend later. Also, defending is about options. The better you can defend yourself when you have more options to have. If you have fewer options to have, you also have fewer opportunities to:
- defend yourself
- to escape
- to assert control
- to force submission
The same as the game of chess, you must be on guard and recognize when the opponent tries to take away the options and corner you into checkmate. Excellent fighters will maintain the presence of mind and composure and focus on not giving up their position.
